Job PROFILE


 


In this key role, we are looking for an experienced, hands on and high performing HR Director who has extensive European experience from multinational, complex organisations. A passion for talent, coaching, organisational effectiveness and business partnering is essential. Experience of supporting both Operations, manufacturing and Sales in a multi country environment is essential.


This role will have responsibility for providing HR leadership and partnership to the leaders of the business at a strategic level.  The HR Director will develop strategy, processes and ensure best practice, whilst having the ability to be hands on, in a fast-paced dynamic environment.


The role is a key member of the Business Unit Leadership team and will have responsibility for HR in the Plant network, as well as providing HR Leadership to the Sales and Commercial functions. The role covers the EMEA region, with the Corporate Head Office sitting in Zurich, Switzerland.


 


 


Principal Accountabilities


 



  • Providing Leadership coaching and HR leadership to the BU Leadership Team and partnering with the VP of the BU.

  • Providing HR leadership to the HR teams in the Plant network (11 plants 9 countries), including many areas such as:  driving staffing/restructuring efforts, including adapting our costs to market reality and demand. Develop HR related action plans aligned with business objectives. 

  • Managing directly the HR Operations for the Sales Organisation and the BU related functions (e.g. Finance, Commercial): e.g. recruitment, exit, onboarding etc.

  • Culture and Change:  Leading the engagement survey efforts for the BU including the development and implementation of action plans.

  • Organisation Change and Development: Deep involvement in effective Organisation design principles and processes.

  • Change Management:  Strong partnership skills are critical, including the ability to challenge and influence leadership, processes and practices within the business.

  • Talent Management: Focus on all aspects of Talent Management, working across the matrix to support Acquisition, Talent development and Development.

  • Succession Planning: Managing the talent cycle for the BU addressing co-worker performance, potential, succession planning, forecasting and executing those plans.

  • Employee and Labour Relations: Managing all high-level employee relations matters.

  • Talent Acquisition and Retention:  Work closely with Leaders and HR Managers at the sites and functions in EMEA to ensure top talent is attracted.  Lead recruitment efforts for senior leaders in the BU.

  • Total Reward: Ensuring a strategic approach to compensation management, including a focus on pay for performance, and benefit practices. Manage the annual merit and bonus processes.

  • Analytics: Develop and maintain EMEA dashboard of critical HR metrics, recognize and forecast trends, and minimize associated costs.

  • Ensure alignment, as appropriate with AF EMEA HR practices and initiatives.


 


 


Internal Relationships:


Business Unit Leadership Team, Operations, Executive teams, Corporate HR & Communications team, AF EMEA HR Leadership team, Site HR teams, Country HR Experts, Co-workers, Legal.
 


Reporting Relationships:
This position reports direct line to the VP of the BU HPL and dotted line to the VP Human Resources and Communications AF EMEA. 
Site HR Managers in EMEA will report to this role dotted line.


 


Qualifications/Requirements


 



  1. Formal Qualifications and Experience



  • 10+ years of related experience in Human Resources

  • Experience of HR leadership within a manufacturing environment

  • People management experience

  • Multi Company experience, ideally in Packaging, Healthcare, FMCG or Manufacturing

  • Fluent in English required; fluency in other European languages (French, German) desired but not essential

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
