Technical Support Engineer Marine (f/m) 100%


(Yard/Contracting Support)


 


for the Marine Operations Center of our organization for employment from the 1st of July 2019 or by agreement. This varied and challenging task focuses on the field of engineering on skid mounted reciprocating compressors and related components for Marine applications.


 


Within this field, it includes the following activities:



  • Supporting our field service representatives (subsidiaries), during installation and commissioning-, gas-trial and maiden voyage-, corrective and preventive maintenance activities as well as trouble shooting interventions.

  • Responsible and the main contact for technical support of the local BC subsidiary as well as in 2nd level for Ship Yard / Vessel Owner during installation, commissioning and G/T of Marine reciprocating compressor applications which are installed offshore on vessels.

  • Technical Support regarding reciprocating compressors for our customers and subsidiaries starting before hand-over of the compressor system to the Owner.

  • Serving technical support during processing and solving of customer punch list after G/T.

  • Initiating and performing of operative and technical actions of damage and problem solving cases which occurred during installation, commissioning or G/T.

  • Participation of Field Service Briefings and Debriefings.

  • Contact person and support for in-depth questions in regards of plant equipment and process control for various internal departments.

  • Returning experience and lessons learned with the application to the respective specialist department respectively responsible PM.

  • Responsible for coordination, supervision and assigning of modification and repair work on Marine packages which are not yet in operation in cooperation with the PE Team 2.

  • Sound technical support for difficult customer meetings.

  • Supports either the lead as well as the local PM in regard of claim management with customers.

  • Participation in the preparation and in some cases supervision of Root Cause Analysis.

  • Management of all kind of work reports and protocols issued by the field service representatives

  • CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) Case Management
     
    Your profile:

  • Master or Bachelor degree in either mechanical engineer, electrical engineering or process engineering, or similar education

  • At least 3 years’ experience in similar business

  • In addition, minimum three years of experience either as Technical engineer or as Field Service Engineer would be an advantage

  • Knowledge of rotating equipment and/or related Marine processes would be beneficial

  • Business fluent, contractual level, in local language and English orally and in writing

  • Customer oriented

  • Good communication and organization skills
     
    You have completed your education as a mechanical, electrical or process engineer and can demonstrate a number of years of well-founded experience in an international environment in the field of industrial equipment engineering or mechanical engineering. Knowledge of the gas transport or marine industry
    would be advantageous.
     
    Together with a strong and capable team, you will contribute your technical skills and your independent and analytical working method towards successfully providing customer-oriented solutions in a challenging environment. Your strong systematic approach and your communication skills enable you to translate ideas into solutions without losing sight of the costs. This feature requires the willingness to delve into details without losing focus on the whole. Expect around 20% international worldwide travel activity as well vessel attendance.
     
    Sound knowledge of written and spoken English (business fluent at a contractual level) is essential, German would be an important asset. In addition to well-founded IT skills (MS-Office, SAP, CRM), you will also be very adept at planning and organizing and be able to make use of these skills both independently and in a goal-oriented manner as part of a strong team.
