What you achieve

You play a key role in setting up the planned Swisscom Digital Lab at the ETH Zurich. You build and maintain a team there, and you are the first point of contact for ETH professors. You ensure the usefulness of the projects: On the one hand, you make sure the research serves a clear purpose for Swisscom products in the immediate or a more distant future. On the other hand, you enable high-quality research that will give us the credibility we need for future collaborations.



You shape and contribute to our research agenda in fields like networking, communication, ethics, and machine learning. Collaborating with internal business sponsors, you create project descriptions that align with our business needs. You meet with professors to harmonize the Swisscom goals with the academic ones. You hire master students and supervise their progress, and you oversee the progress of joint projects with ETH. In addition, you enable new collaborations with academic partners in fields relevant to Swisscom.

Why you succeed

• PhD in networking, communication or machine learning


• Intimate knowledge of the ETH network


• Proven research experience and demonstrated ability to oversee research projects


• Teaching experience and good teaching skills


• Charismatic personality, experienced at framing and dealing with problems from a business perspective


• Very good English and German
