As a Research Assistant in Neurocognition, your main activity will be to plan, coordinate, execute and report laboratory and experimental activities according to the project planning, and in compliance with good laboratory practices and safety rules.


                                                             


Key responsibilities  



  • Design and carry out experiments for neuroscience projects

  • Develop experimental methods and protocols

  • Show polyvalent knowledge applicable to various fields                                      

  • Provide technical and scientific support to projects by assisting scientists and project leaders in the selection of the analytical approach and method                                           

  • Manage and coordinate autonomously experimental activities within larger projects, and consolidate data with project/activity leader 

  • Present methods and results at department and Nestlé Research level, and write communications and reports                                                                                                                                                                                                           


Required Profile



  • Master in Neurobiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or equivalent

  • Expertise in driving method development and implementation in collaboration with internal and external scientists related to neuroscientific research questions

  • Experience with the design and execution of in vitro studies using cell cultures

  • Experience with common cellular and molecular biology techniques such as immunolabeling, fluorescence microscopy, western blotting, and qRT-PCR.

  • Experience with tissue processing for histological and biochemical analyses would be a plus

  • Experience with reviewing scientific literature (technological and subject matter field of expertise)

  • Experience in scientific reporting (analytical reports, results sections of R&D reports etc.)

  • Ideally knowledge in nutrition and/or biochemistry

  • Fluent in English and French both spoken and written
