Human Resources Business Partner


PartnerRe is a global reinsurance company with offices in various global locations. We have recently embarked on a consolidation, growth and development strategy. Due to the launch of this project PartnerRe has established a strategic HR business partner operating model. This position will be based in our Zurich office and your role will be to help shape the HRBP function in order to provide strategic counsel to one or more members of the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to the direction and design of an evolving organization.


 


You will be part of an immediate team of 7 HRBP’s & Geos reporting into the head of the HRBPs and will be part of an extended HR team of 35.


Your role will be to create an HR function that is proactive, responsive, professional and sought-out by the business leaders.


 


Day-to-day duties include:



  • Support the growth and development of your specific ELT organisations with employees from 40 to 300 employees, located across multiple geographies

  • Aligning HR strategies and initiatives to the business objectives

  • Promoting a robust performance management process organization including annual reviews, coaching and career development

  • Work with other HR Functions – Staffing & Training to design and execute robust recruitment and retention plans

  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with business leaders to ensure HR is effectively engaging and supporting the business

  • Providing guidance to the senior leadership team regarding change management strategies

  • Providing pragmatic, consistent guidance to the management and employees on all aspects of employee relations

  • Leading enterprise-wide HR programs and initiatives with cross-functional teams

  • Ensuring HR processes and practices are compliant with all regulatory requirements and are sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion


About you



  • You will ideally have a university degree with an emphasis on HR or Business Admin

  • A Masters in HR is an advantage

  • You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively senior HR roles. May have also gained experience in consulting or other business roles

  • You will be an experienced operating HR business partner working in an international environment with medium-sized / large corporations

  • You will have proven experience in leading and supporting change initiatives.

  • Previous experience of working in a Matrix environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • You will be able to demonstrate how you build highly effecting and trusting relationships with all levels of the organisation

  • Understands how to engage and influence senior leaders and other key stakeholders in order to drive business results

  • You will have strong business acumen, be empathetic, have excellent listening skills and have a high level of integrity

The Zurich office was established in 1998 in the heart of the city by the lake, where we have various amenities such an in house restaurant, fitness, parking, etc. There are currently 300 employees with diverse backgrounds who collaborate across locations in multicultural teams. Our business specialists look after Property & Casualty, Specialty and Life lines of business with the support of different functions, such as Actuarial, Risk Management, Reinsurance Accounting, Claims, IT, Legal, Audit and HR.
