Internships may begin at any time during the year. Interns are expected to join the team for a minimum of six months.
Responsibilities.
• Improve Verity’s understanding of our how our drones perform in the wild
• Analyse flight logs from customer installations and internal testing
• Develop insights on the behavior of our vehicles and indoor localisation system
• Provide hardware reliability assessments based on customer field issues and log
data
• Automate testing and verification of hardware in bench testing
• Improve our detection of wear and damage on large fleets of autonomous vehicles
• Contribute to the development of our controls systems by identifying key trends and signals
• Guide improvements in mechanical/electrical designs and future products
A specific focus from the list above can be developed depending on the candidate’s specialization.
Qualifications.
• Pursuing education in mechanical/electrical engineering, computer science with engineering-related minor/focus, or other related focus
• First-principles understanding of mechatronic systems: motors, batteries, electronics, etc.
• Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to seek out trends in data
• Physical intuition to tie statistical results to underlying physical processes
• Programming/scripting knowledge with Python/MATLAB
