IT Team Manager - ERP Upstream Procurement

Within the Roche IT ERP Organisation, the areas of Global Finance and Procurement have been combined to ensure full end to end accountability as well as a streamlined connection to our business stakeholders. The Roche IT ERP organisation is enabling Roche business transformation by a global multi-year program which will simplify, standardise and automate business processes and systems.


 


The IT team of ERP Global Finance and Procurement, is organised according to process domains and there is a great opportunity to lead one of these teams -Upstream Procurement.The global scope is focused on the more strategic procurement topics to support Roche Group Procurement, consisting of supplier management, contract management, sourcing, portfolio and category management.


 


The Upstream Procurement IT Team delivers global projects, solutions and services, SAP and non-SAP, working closely with the Group Procurement business function. In this role of Team Manager Upstream Procurement, you will be accountable for demand management and planning, people management, stakeholder management, project/solution delivery, enhancements, and operational support. In collaboration with our Business and IT stakeholders, you will develop strategies and actionable plans that ensure sustainability and maximize the ROI from the use of our solutions. You will be responsible for the leadership and development of a team of 7-8 IT professionals located primarily in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland and South San Francisco, US. You will partner with the IT Solution Centre in Poland and Malaysia, and manage external resources as needed.


As a member of the ERP Global Finance and Procurement Leadership team, you will be required to:



  • Provide functional management and coaching to the members of the team that consists of Business Solution Analysts, Solution Architects and Project Managers. Develop, manage, communicate, and execute your portfolio to ensure alignment with and clear understanding of the strategic and operational goals of our customers.

  • Collaborate with partners in IT and the Business to ensure that vendor management, budget management, change management, employee performance management and other internal processes are conducted professionally and in the best interests of our customers, teams and other stakeholders.

  • Ensure the Upstream Procurement team actively manages incidents, service and change requests in compliance with internal IT processes and agreed metrics. Having a mindset of continuous improvement, look for opportunities for service optimisation and increased productivity and quality.

  • Contribute to building and implementing the team strategy, in line with the overall Roche ERP strategy. Facilitate and encourage cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing as well as support optimal resource planning.


You have BA or BS degree in Informatics, related fields or relevant business discipline with overall 10+ years IT experience across multiple business areas or technical domains. You excel in driving the IT aspects of Business Transformation Programs and Projects as well as building and improving Service delivery in an ERP environment.


You bring the following qualifications and experience:
 



  • 5+ years people management experience with strong coaching, mentoring and influencing skills and an inspiring and empowering leadership style


  • Knowledge of Procurement business processes and systems


  • High adaptability and flexibility with a well-developed strategic mindset and expertise in building and leading high-performing global teams


  • Experience working in ambiguous environments where your ability to identify the right priorities or help with defining them is essential for the success of the team.


  • A passion for and proven track record of introducing and delivering innovative solutions that readily scale and deliver business benefits as well as the ability to manage demanding timelines and operate in a complex environment


  • Proven experience in building and growing stakeholder partnerships, focusing on the fundamentals of reliability and credibility.  Ability to establish a solid network and work effectively across organizational boundaries


  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with fluent English. Able to travel ~10%
