Technical Manager Hosting

Work location: Geneva with occasional travels to other European countries.

Purpose of Role: The Technical Manager Hosting is responsible for European customer’s IT infrastructure. He will liaise and work with the Interoute Operations Centres, the end customer directly, and third-party vendors to ensure that the customer’s services are working perfectly, and to handle difficult platform incidents.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as technical contact for the customers during the whole solution life-cycle


• Assist Technical Architect in designing customised solutions


• Validate changes and supervise their implementation


• Test and onboard non-standard solutions


• Produce documentation to ease new solution handover to operation teams


• Ensure the infrastructure platforms and services are installed and operating correctly


• Investigate and fix difficult incidents


• Keep documentation up to date


• Review platform performance and stability and prepare improvement Plans


• Perform occasional “out of hours” maintenance on ICT products


• Learn new things and share knowledge with colleagues


• Help the sales guys sell new products and services to the customer

Experience

Must have:

• University degree


• At least 5 years in a Hosting Service Provider or IT service environment


• Good level of knowledge and experience with:


• Linux


• Windows server OS


• VMware virtualisation

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of and experience with:


• Cloud infrastructure services like Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services helpful


• Datacenter monitoring systems


• Good understanding of a broad range of technologies revolving around ICT areas including but not limited to:


• Firewalls & IPS


• Load Balancing solutions


• Switching and routing


• LAN / WAN architecture


• Storage and Backup systems


• Database & Middleware,


• MS O365, MS Exchange, AD, ADFS


• Some knowledge and experience with Scripting

Languages

• Good English (spoken and written) is required, French would be helpful

On Call required: Occasional out of hour work is expected
