For our side in Bern we are looking for a

General Ledger Lead / Senior Accountant

You, as a successful General Ledger Lead, are a key collaborator for our Head of Finance and mentor and supervisor for four staff accountants. You ensure that the integrity of the General Ledger is met and that all transactions are reflected in accordance with IFRS, Swiss GAAP, and internal policies and guidelines.

By successfully maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures you ensure that all transactions comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. You furthermore manage various accounting functions including general ledger, revenue and asset accounting and year-end audit preparation.

In detail your responsibilities include:

• Interfacing with Finance and Business managers, Corporate Finance staff and external auditors


• Jointly with the Business Support Lead manage adherence and compliance with corporate and legal accounting policies as well as financial controls


• Performing effective accounting of all transactions with full responsibility for general ledger, asset and project accounting, including reviewing/approving journal entries and execution reports and performing reconciliations


• Managing the periodic financial close processes and reviewing preliminary financial statements including month-end reports, execution reports, and month-to-date and year-to-date analysis; review close reports for accuracy; review completeness/accuracy of bank reconciliation


• Overseeing capital and fixed assets, including review of monthly reports, asset depreciation, validation asset transfer details and deactivation and further


• Engaging and managing the performance and productivity of the team by setting clear and exciting targets and providing a supportive and transparent feedback culture


• Ensuring compliance with internal control policies, IFRS, and Swiss GAAP


• Participating in strategic financial projects including the roll out and stabilization of the CSL Behring “PACE ERP”

Furthermore, you possess the following competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or another related field, MBA or a CPA preferred


• Several years of progressive experience either as a General Accountant in a large company or as Chief Accountant in a small, mid-size company


• Acute and bright thinker and doer with a very high capacity of execution in a dynamic global environment


• Energetic and proactive person with strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to cope with time pressure in demanding situations


• Authentical people leader with excellent communication, influencing and conflict solving skills in English and German


• Strong technical accounting skills with demonstrated experience in IFRS and Swiss GAAP as well as extensive working experience with SAP and SAP BW
