Oracle’s HGBU Hotel Distribution Platform team is building from the


ground up a platform for managing global


supply and demand for hotel rooms. The


platform will operate at a large scale in


a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers will use it


to manage their hotel room inventory and pricing as well as availability


requests and bookings on all distribution channels. Our mission is to provide the


industry with a platform that can scale and have near-zero downtime.


As an SW development manager, you will supervise highly skilled, highly


motivated engineers using agile methodologies based on Scrum, and incorporating


agile enterprise practices from Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). HDP team


embraces a DevOps as an integral part of the SDLC.


Responsibilities:



  • Consistently drive high standards for team members, the teamand the organization to accomplish the key objectives


  • Attract, develop, engage and retain talented team members


  • Work with Product Owners, Architects, and team members toensure that functional and non-functional requirements are met.


  • Manage the development of a highly scalable, performance-optimized,and highly available environment for micro-services based SaaS on top ofthe Oracle Platform Services andinfrastructure


  • Manage development and maintenance of automation frameworksand tools to ensure high speed&low cost provisioning, maximum uptimeand predictability while preventing outages and service interruptions ordegradations


  • Provide team performance metrics to the HGBU leadership todetermine the cost and efficiency of the team.


  • Communicate leadership vision, mission, and values to theteam and motivate support for them



Preferred Qualifications:



  • BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent


  • Significant experience in software engineering and technicalleadership with proven results in designing, implementing and maintainingcomplex systems and services


  • Experience as a people manager with a proven track record ofrecruiting and onboarding a high performing team


  • Familiar with cloud design patterns


  • Comfortable in CI/CD and DevOps work styles


  • Experienced with SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes


  • Ability to mentor and coach engineering workforce


  • Strong communication and personal skills: work well withmembers of other functional groups in a project team; demonstrate a strongsense of project ownership

Detailed Description and Job Requirements


Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.


As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.


Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
