Our Team in Zurich is currently looking for a Senior ICT Database Manager reporting to our Group Leader Core Applications.

In this position you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Support the database systems on the 2nd and 3rd level IT Support (internal/external) within a highly regulated environment (GxP, GDPR, Security)


• Do on-call activities on weekly basis or support them during working hours and be available for planned maintenance on weekends


• Coordinate the interfaces between the requesters (internals and/or externals), the infrastructure team, Global IT team or/and the business


• Develop the overall databases infrastructure architecture for one or more business area domains, ensuring that the architecture is appropriate across the business domain(s)


• Evolve to meet changing business and technology environments and adhere to the enterprise architecture


• Conduct industry and domain analysis for technology choices and directions. Create technology road-maps for the systems/components. Capture architectural requirements


• Evaluate alternative approaches. Prototype alternatives as needed. Create architectural models and architecture documentation


• Project activities - Analyze, design, realize and implement IT solutions, including: devising functional and conceptual design specifications; Component / System modelling; Development; Project – Management activities related to the technical area


• Write project related documentation such as technical system design, user manual, etc.

In order to be successful in this role, you will bring the following knowledge and experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in industry (equal work)


• Minimum 5 years of IT project management experience


• Have a good understanding of GxP/CSV and other relevant regulations


• MS SQL certified, experience with SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database


• Very good knowledge of Windows Server


• Good knowledge of virtualization infrastructure


• Fluent level in English, both in oral and written communication


• Tenure in at last three jobs for at least 2 years each


• ITIL Certified

You demonstrate a proactive and entrepreneurial approach with strong organization and time management skills. Team player and customer service oriented, you also show very good communication skills as well as ability to influence others.
