  • An exciting position as senior Systems Engineer in the Global Financial Messaging Systems Area (GFMS) – responsible for integrating bank-wide financial message infrastructure and enabling end-to-end monitoring and compliance screening of messages 

  • You will participate in design and implementation of current messaging systems based on IBM Integration Bus and other vendor-based products for e.g. monitoring of message traffic, focusing on critical aspects such as security and reliability

  • You have a willingness and ability to step up and take a leading role in terms of technical ownership and delivery of projects and/or short-term, highly important production fixes. This includes direct collaboration with business partners and technically leading the international team providing the solutions.

  • The primary focus and responsibility will be on design, engineering and 3rd level support of various highly important projects and applications within GFMS. This includes complex technical migrations, working with software vendors to understand the products in detail and be able to engineer solutions that work in a high available environment.

  • You act as a deputy Engineering Lead providing you the possibility to develop technical leadership abilities and improve your professional network with different partners throughout a global organization. 

  • A secondary focus of the job is to understand and support the integration to other applications supporting e.g. Sanctions Screening. Additionally interesting opportunities to move into new topics like Kafka streaming E2E security etc.

  • You support a high-availability platform with 24/7 requirements including on-call duty of the platform as a whole. 

  • Being part of a truly global organization with a footprint in all main CS locations, having a multitude of nationalities and languages

You Offer

 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related natural sciences field (alternatively provable equivalent education in this domain)

  • Knowledge of Messaging-based applications and middleware, preferably with financial messaging (SWIFT) knowhow and hands-on experience in the field 

  • Broad technical background including knowledge strong experience in all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle: planning, requirements analysis and engineering, system architecture and design, engineering, software development, testing, maintenance and 3rd level support.

  • You bring several years of hands-on experience as a Systems Engineer in an MQ and Websphere Message Broker -related domain with proven successful delivery of projects based on a messaging infrastructure 

  • You bring a passion and dedication for engineering excellence. Experience of driving development best practice and encouraging creative or forward-thinking in a traditional environment. 

  • Knowledge of Java, Systems Monitoring, Sanctions Screening products and Data Transformation technologies is of substantial advantage. 

  • You have excellent communication skills with very good command of the English language (ideally C level both written and spoken). German is not mandatory but of advantage
