Field System Engineer (100%)


Your Tasks & Responsibilities

As an expert on all DECTRIS detector systems you will



  • analyze, troubleshoot, and debug hardware and software issues

  • commission detectors at synchrotrons worldwide

  • repair detectors in our lab and at the customer’s research facility

  • train our customers and partners and provide integration support

  • develop and optimise our lab for diagnostics, repairs, and trainings

  • collaborate closely with our US team, product engineers, developers, application scientists, and sales team


Your Qualifications



  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering, natural sciences, or a degree in a comparable discipline

  • Experience with instrumentation and lab equipment

  • Linux, scripting, and programming skills

  • Interest in worldwide travelling (up to 20%) and collaboration with customers

  • Fluent in English and good command of German

  • You are a customer oriented team player who solves problems with logical-analytical thinking

  • You share our passion for science, technology, and communication

Team Support & Commissioning


As an engineer in the Support & Commissioning team, you are the technical expert on our detector systems, the interface to our users, and the face of DECTRIS. Are you an active problem solver who loves providing innovative solutions? Can you find workarounds when necessary, and do you enjoy teaching technology? If yes, this job will offer challenges from software and hardware to physics, an exciting work environment in labs, synchrotrons and fusion reactors, as well as insights into a broad field of applications ranging from crystallography to industrial imaging, electron microscopy, and many more.
