\r As a post-doctoral fellow at Fribourg University, you will be joining a top scientist team and have access to a newly completed, well-equipped research facility to build a strong scientific career. The Chair of Pharmacology is expanding a multidisciplinary research program focusing on the pathophysiological role of oxidants, free radicals and gaseous transmitters in critical illness. The scientific environment is extremely dynamic and highly collaborative. The successful applicant will have numerous opportunities to grow and expand his/her conceptual and technical horizons, to contribute to the expansion of the research into new directions, and to collaborate with leading scientists and specialized institutes locally and worldwide.

Tätigkeitsgebiet

  • \r To conduct laboratory research in the field in the pathogenesis and experimental therapy of ARDS, by integrating the approaches and tools of molecular medicine, pathophysiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology.

  • \r To establish and develop new methods and techniques.
  • \r
  • \r To design and perform experiments and critically analyze and evaluate data.
  • \r
  • \r To perform administrative tasks, as assigned.
  • \r
  • \r To write reports, papers and grant applications.
  • \r
  • \r To present the findings at national/international congresses.

Anforderungen



    \r
  • \r PhD or MD degree.
  • \r
  • \r Strong background and excellent track record and publication record in ARDS or other area of critical illness.
  • \r
  • \r Ability to work with multiple experimental methods and tools from various disciplines (pathophysiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology).
  • \r
  • \r Experience as an in-vivo experimenter is an absolute requirement.
  • \r
  • \r Strong English language skills are mandatory.
  • \r
  • \r The candidate must be able to work both independently and interactively with a team setting.
  • \r
  • \r We are looking for dynamic, highly motivated, meticulous, pro-active candidates with excellent conceptual and methodological background and superb problem-solving and analytical skills.
