Application Manager Paints and Coatings Europe

  • Management of Omya Paints & Coatings Laboratory

  • Providing technology services to customer, internal and external

  • Being the Technical center of expertise for Paints, Coatings applications

  • Managing Technical Services and Innovation projects in the field of Paints & Coatings in Europe

  • Lead a team of 7 people (3 project engineers and 4 lab technicians)

  • Prioritizing projects and allocated resources in the laboratory for Paints & Coatings

  • Support and active participation in development projects in the field of Paints & Coatings

  • Support of Distribution Business with laboratory projects in line with regional strategic objectives

  • Joint Customer visits with Sales Force if required

  • Preparing publications (Bulletins, magazines) and presentations as well as presenting to congresses and customers following all corporate policies

  • Support of global Key Accounts and Business Development


 



  • M.Sc. or PhD in chemical engineering / paints, coatings or similar discipline

  • minimum 5 years' experience in the paints and coatings or related field

  • Expert in paints and coatings formulations

  • Service-oriented solution provider with strong customer focus and related social skills

  • Open mind & structured approach to both, innovation projects and support of existing business

  • Ability to find and constantly looking for customer solutions, achieve objectives and drive them to completion

  • Open-minded, straight forward, flexible, hands-on, down-to-earth

  • Good presentation and communication skills

  • Good leadership skills

  • Fluent in German and English

  • Nice to have: Powder Coating experience

  • Willing to travel up to 30%
