Mechanical Category Specialist
The role requires the sourcing and negotiations of mechanical categories and values experience in negotiating plastics, castings, stampings, machining, and mechanical components in a cost effective and timely manner from a controlled supply base, in order to meet the varying demands of both manufacturing production planning & new production introduction requirements.
Main responsibilities:
· Establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business Leadership for your assigned commodity / category and/or region as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan
· Drive competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest total cost for your sites, reduced working capital via negotiation planning and execution, high growth region sourcing, value engineering and sole/single source elimination
· Manage supplier performance to support your commodity/category and/or region and ensure supply continuity
· Align supplier strategy with European & global commodity strategies; participate in category strategy teams and submit key input to category strategy
· Provide input to category RFP events
· Ensure implementation of category strategy and category RFP events
· Manage and communicate key suppliers (Plan for Every Supplier)
· Owns category supplier productivity targets and forecasting productivity and working capital benefits and results vs forecast
· Managing several projects in dynamic environment
· You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, export /import regulations
· Comply with approved campus/Honeywell sourcing policies and procedures
· Project management support as required
· Maintaining and performing agreed Leadership Standard Work
· Departmental absences cover provision as required.
· Other relevant duties as assigned.
Main requirements:
YOU MUST HAVE
· Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional qualification
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a supply chain environment.
· Strong organizational and communication skills in an international environment with the ability to lead and drive projects to completion.
· Ability to present, sell and implement ideas to various levels both internal and external.
· Strong skills in buying, negotiation, and agreement / contract administration.
· Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and SAP.
WE VALUE
· Extensive experience in procurement and/or supply chain
· Working and/or Leading in manufacturing site environments
· Significant Contract Management Experience
· Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic environment
· Team Leader experience in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement/Business
· Demonstrated Business and financial acumen
· Experience with SAP or site relevant ERP systems, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools
· Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Tools
· Masters Degree
Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management
