We are currently looking for a data engineer who will contribute to the development of our data lake, analytical stack and machine learning capabilities. As a member of our team you will spend time designing and growing our existing infrastructure, democratizing data access at the company, and promoting the correct use of data and analytics.


What you will do:



  • Extend and continuously improve the current data infrastructure utilising the latest tools & technologies to address our growing data science needs

  • Work on collecting, storing, processing, and analysing huge sets of data

  • Define and build the data pipelines that will enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making within the business

  • Make sure our data infrastructure is reliable, fast and secure

  • Design and build smart services that power decision making across all of our functions. 


What we look for:



  • 5+ years of experience delivering code in a production environment

  • 3+ years of experience working with large volumes of data

  • Strong programming skills (Python or Java)

  • Strong SQL and data modelling skills

  • Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources in a programmatic way

  • Experience with building data platform on cloud (ideally GCP)

  • Experience with Apache Airflow, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, or Google Cloud Dataflow is a big plus

  • Ability to work well across different teams and to deal with ambiguity

  • Attention to detail in complex environments

  • Strong dedication to drive change with a positive can-do attitude

  • Capable of investigating, familiarizing and mastering new data sets quickly

  • Working knowledge of kanban, agile, scrum, continuous delivery and deployment

  • Fluency in German or English
