As Patent Attorney you provide patent and strategic support to the Vifor Pharma group covering a broad spectrum of patent support for certain therapeutic areas. In this position you are responsible for managing a broad range of stakeholders at Vifor Pharma.

For this role you will cover the following tasks:

• Advising Vifor Pharma in different patent related matters, including patentability, product patent situation, loss of exclusivity matters, life cycle management and other Pharma IP incentive rights
  


• Safeguarding that Vifor Pharma products are marketed without infringing other parties’ patent rights
  


• Manage a part of Vifor Pharma’s global patent portfolio both with respect to pending applications and granted patents, in order to safeguard the rights of the company in a cost-effective manner and in such way that an optimal patent portfolio is created and maintained to protect Vifor Pharma already marketed products on the one hand and new products that are still in the development phase, taking into account national and international legislations
  


• Coordinate/draft freedom-to-operate or patentability opinions both with respect to new Vifor Pharma products and in-licensing candidate products

We are looking for the following requirements:

• At least a Master degree in life sciences or organic chemistry, with up to 3 years post-qualification experience
  


• Qualified US or European Patent Attorney
  


• Experience in isolating inventions, drafting patent applications and managing/prosecuting a global Patent portfolio
  


• Knowledge in Pharma IP life cycle management strategies
  


• Knowledge in Pharma IP incentives
  


• Fluent English skills
