Global Packaging Engineer

Job Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Global Packaging Technology and Engineering processes including component specification review and approval, as well as die-line creation (Technical Drawing). Responsible for documenting and communicating process requirements via SOPs and guidance documents as well as reaching process effectiveness and compliance


• Plans and implements the development of major packaging initiatives, such as NPDs and product transfers, by anticipating and reacting to the changing needs of their stakeholders. Facilitates the resolution of problems during the development process to meet customers’ needs and provides leadership and guidance to continuously improve processes


• Creates innovative packaging solutions by using in depth technical knowledge, experience, and education. Act as a key technical contributor via researching, identifying and evaluating new package materials and equipment to ensure manufacturing operations are functional and cost efficient


• Proactively supports internal and external manufacturing sites as required and drives the development and approval of new technology implementation to assure packaging solutions meet global and local regulations


• Independently manages the package development process on strategic and tactical projects ensuring they meet key project milestones while effectively utilizing processes and tools


• Partners with internal and external customers to efficiently deliver against project objectives


• Efficiently integrates package engineering project tasks with Global Packaging Management processes such as change management to ensure timely delivery against objectives


• Manages packaging technology and engineering resources providing leadership and direction for best practices with focus on continuous improvement. Provides training to Global Packaging team personnel on key processes, tools and other activities required relevant to packaging technology and engineering

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Packaging engineering, or comparable experience in a regulated environment, preferably pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer products


• 8+ years of experience in Packaging engineering of OTC/Pharmaceutical products


• Must be a team player with strong project management and organizational skills


• A positive, proactive and flexible attitude in a fast-paced environment with consistent attention to detail and good judgment


• Extensive expertise and understanding of Packaging Materials, Technologies and Processes


• Good interpersonal skills and high degree of customer focus


• Proactive approach, with excellent planning, communication and presentation skills


• Fluent in English. German, French or Spanish in addition are an asset
