Supplier Quality Engineer (f/m)


Kopter Group AG specializes in the development, production, commercialization and support of a new generation of helicopters. It is based in the Zurich region and currently employs 250 people. Its first model, the single turbine SH09, offers the highest standards of safety, comfort and performance, coupled with low operating costs. Additionally, it provides the largest cabin/cargo volumes, outstanding modularity and the latest generation of electronic systems. Built for the most demanding missions, the SH09 helicopter is generating an excellent market response.


Your responsibilities



  • Support Kopter strategic buyers in the supplier selection process activities (e.g. on site assessment)
    Handle initial supplier approval activities (including supplier organizational audit)

  • Manage the supplier special process qualifications in collaboration with Kopter Material & Process and NDT team
    Support the supplier in the industrialization process for the Kopter products and parts

  • Supervise part qualification activities at the supplier, including FPQ and FAI witnessing and report release
    Execute continuous supplier oversight activities

  • Take action towards the supplier for reported quality issues

  • Actively track action items and critical process indicators defined with supplier to lastingly improve quality situation

  • Act as quality focal point for his supplier portfolio for technical and quality matters

  • Set and follow annual targets with suppliers together with strategic procurement and Supply Chain Management


Your qualifications



  • Hold a technical college degree in engineering or equivalent

  • Experience in Quality Assurance in an aircraft industry environment (3 years minimum), preferably in Supplier Quality Assurance,

  • Knowledge of quality assurance tools (e.g. 8D, FMEA, APQP, SPC, MSA)

  • Knowledge of QMS standards (EN 9100, ISO 9001)

  • EASA Part-21J and G, knowledge highly recommended

  • Experience in auditing of organizations and processes (preferably lead auditor qualification)

  • Experience in industrialization of production and/or work in a manufacturing organization. Composite parts manufacturing or hydraulics systems are an advantage.

  • Excellent communication in English, other languages are an advantage.Proficient MS Office skills and preferable SAP knowledge

  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving and organization skills.

  • Motivation to work in a challenging environment and contribute to develop supplier quality management tools and processes

  • Willingness to travel (possibly up to 80%)
