Senior Manager Commercial Learning
The Senior Manager, Commercial Learning will manage and lead a team of regional commercial training professionals to create and support training initiatives in an effort to improve the knowledge and skills of commercial employees.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership
Build, coach and manage a team of successful training professionals/coordination staff
Recruit talented training professionals/coordination staff for ongoing bench positions
Develop training staff skill and competency through ongoing personnel development
Meets sales training objectives by forecasting sales training and resource capacity needs in region; aligning with Market General Managers on business plan; executing within budget and plan
Teach and audit adherence to relevant Standard Operating Procedures and training processes
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining person networks; participating in professional organizations
Partner with the Commercial Leadership Team to support the sales strategy by aligning all training programs and initiatives to the priorities.
Assess sales team’s strengths and gaps pertaining to knowledge and skills; Develop programs to address competency gaps
Strong collaboration with peers within the Global Sales Enablement team to adhere to training processes and support each other in their initiatives
Lead new product commercialization initiatives to create training curricula, collaborate with cross-functional team to roll out training and lead train-the-trainer sessions as needed.
Technical Training
Become a Subject Matter Expert of the company's products
Lead and coordinate certification of training staff to main their “trainer” level status
Lead Train-the-Trainer Technical programs and trainings for Global Commercial Learning peers
Assess training participants technical competency
Clinical Training
Become a Subject Matter Expert across key specialties: general surgery, colorectal surgery, gynecologic surgery, thoracic surgery, and urology
Lead and coordinate certification of training staff to main their “trainer” level status
Educate Commercial employees on relevant clinical procedures as part of sales training programs and initiatives, as needed
Establish success metrics through cross-functional needs analyses to gain alignment and commitment to a training plan
Effectively present and deliver Clinical Sales Process and Capital Sales Process presentations and workshops to new and existing employees
Leverage various formats and venues for training programs, such as instructor-led, self-led, distance learning/remote, video and podcast, etc. to maximize the impact of the content while optimizing costs
Assess training participants sales competency
Training Programs
Manage all segments of new hire training programs: Clinical and System Training (CAST)
Create curricula, agendas and training materials for all technical, clinical and sales training programs for existing commercial employees, as needed
Analytical:
Measure sales effectiveness of training programs and develop reports and comprehensive programs analysis; define action plans
Forecast and design curricula to meet organizational needs
Qualifications
Master’s Degree or equivalent training experience required
3+ years of Management experience in either Sales or Training, preferably in medical device field
5+ years of Sales experience, preferably in medical device field
2+ years of Corporate Training or Field Training experience preferred
Established executive presence
Ambition and strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead and work effectively with others in international team environment
Proven track record in leading and developing a team in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, including action oriented, focused urgency and driving for results
Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills
Proficiency in MS office
Ability to travel for up to 30%
Fluency in English and German
