For the Neutron Diffraction Group in the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering and Imaging we are looking for aPhD StudentMagnetic frustration as a source of extended periodic spin texturesYour tasks
Use scattering techniques, neutron and X-Ray diffraction to investigate the crystal and magnetic structures of new materials that may host topological spin textures
Analyse experimental data and develop interpretations using analytical and numerical models
Collaborate with theoreticians (modelling) and chemists (materials discovery and characterization)
Publish results in scientific journals and present findings at scientific meetings
Your profile
Master degree in physics or physical chemistry
Knowledge of crystallography, neutron/X-Ray scattering and/or magnetism
High level of proficiency in numerical data analysis and/or computer simulation
Able to work independently in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research team
Willing to regularly travel internationally
Good communication skills in English
