Responsibilities & Profile


Your contribution to KPMG

You will be exposed to a wide variety of day-to-day tasks, whilst working directly with our senior team members and clients, including:

  • Analyze relevant national and international legislation, case laws and customs practices in order to provide advice to our clients, in different Customs matters

  • Research International Trade topics and write technical advices

  • Formulate ideas to deliver possible Trade & Customs savings opportunities and practical solutions

  • Support in the development and training of Indirect Tax team members

  • Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within the budget

  • Work with KPMG Swiss and Global teams, on multidisciplinary engagements

  • Perform Trade & Customs compliance audits

  • Support the Head of Trade & Customs with technical expertise, management of clients and in organizational aspects


This is what makes you successful



  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferred in a Big 4 Consulting firm or Law firm

  • University degree in law, economics or business administration, ideally with a specialization in Customs law, Foreign trade law, WTO law or a completed education with relevant professional experience in this area

  • Knowledge of and exposure in International Trade, Swiss and/or EU Customs laws

  • Ability to engage colleagues, clients, and stakeholders professionally through well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Proficient English skills and ideally speaking German, French or Italian

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications

  • Passion for technology and innovative ways to deliver services, Global Trade Automation Solutions experience is a plus
