Your mission :

The EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), situated on the Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland, applies advanced neuroinformatics, data analytics, high-performance computing and simulation-based approaches to the challenge of understanding the structure and function of the mammalian brain in health and disease. The BBP provides the community with regular releases of data, models and tools to accelerate neuroscience discovery and clinical translation through open science and global collaboration.To help improve current internal processes, develop procedures and monitor compliance, the BBP Operations team is looking for:
Process Improvement Manager (W/M).Reporting directly to the Director of Operations.
Main duties and responsibilities include :



  • Manages the overall BBP internal manual of procedures:

- Translates EPFL policies into BBP working practice

- Coordinates the development of new SOPs and WIs

- Manages the SOPs & WIs lifecycle from ideation to release



  • Manages process design and/or re-engineering within BBP:

- Identifies data sources, gathers and analyzes data relevant to processes identified for process improvement initiatives

- Researches and summarizes best practice standards relevant to process management

- Conducts process mapping and define RACI matrix

- Identifies process bottlenecks and governance corrective initiatives



  • Monitors the organizational performance:

- Identifies KPIs and internal controls

- Identifies gaps and opportunities for improvement

- Identifies potential risks of non-compliance and envisages measures for risk avoidance/mitigation

- Prepares for and follow up on organizational audits
Your profile :



  • Experience in value stream analysis and process mapping

  • Experience in the preparation of policies, SOPs and WIs

  • 3+ years of professional experience as management consultant

  • Master’s degree in a scientific discipline – ideally supported by a business/management qualification

  • Certification or qualification in project management (Agile or Waterfall)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Visio and Project Planning

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills: able to think “out of the box”

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills; a team player with a collaborative working style
