Position Summary

 


As a R&D Packaging Lead, you will establish the global strategy for the functional areas and drive the implementation across the business and categories. You will establish the functional area roadmaps, timings and deployments for the cross-category solutions ensuring profitable growth through efficient and timely deployments. Ensure at all times alignment with Global, Zone and Market business plans and priorities related to sustainability, elimination of plastics where relevant, TDC reduction, manufacturing capability evolution and people development.
Provide expertise and product (packaging) technology specific support and training to the packaging community. Develop people, and packaging vision/strategy for the respective business.


A day in the life of a R&D Packaging Lead

 



  • Functional leadership for packaging technologies and equipment

  • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team and develop the packaging strategy relevant to the above focus areas

  • Actively drive the process of scouting new opportunities, leveraging suppliers and start-ups to ensure we lead with innovative and competitive packaging technologies/concepts, systems and processes

  • To lead the delivery of the packaging strategy and the business commitments related to the functional area of focus

  • Develop and deploy affordable packaging technologies and operational capabilities.

  • Functional leadership of project managers to ensure on-time, on-quality and on-cost delivery of projects

  • Ensure industrialization of packaging solutions and operational capabilities

  • Build capability of the broader population through training. Foster a culture of networking and collaboration within the team and with relevant stakeholders. Establish & maintain core competencies in the appropriate areas of packaging

  • Be the guardian of respective technology and material platforms at the group level


What will make you successful

 



  • Graduate in Packaging or Printing Technology, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent

  • Broad experience on packaging development and project management

  • Line management with demonstrated leadership experience as a Group Manager in a  Nestlé Market

  • More than 8 years of operational / R&D experience in a packaging or engineering position

  • International exposure

  • Proven ability to interact with scientific/technical experts and commercial colleagues

  • Good understanding of the business environment
