Hardware Engineer, Wearable Devices

Hardware Engineer, Wearable devices (80-100%)


Location: Zurich, Switzerland with occasional travel to the locations of our partner companies
Responsibilities



  • Stay on top of technological trends about wearable sensor systems and measurement of physiological
    parameters

  • Independently identify and evaluate new technological solutions by actively networking with suppliers,
    research institutions and other industry partners

  • Develop innovative concepts for component integration into pre-development mockups and prototypes
    (electronic, electrical and mechanical)

  • Demonstrate a hands-on mentality by independently building prototypes and mockups and validate them
    in a controlled environment

  • Plan and execute data analysis and validation in close collaboration with our Data Science team; ensure
    integration of learnings into current or future product concepts

  • Participate in development projects by providing your experience and knowledge

  • Oversee conceptualization and implementation of a test environment (equipment, tools, test protocols) in
    line with industry specific standards


About you:



  • Degree from a renowned technical university (MSc or FH with suitable further education)

  • At least 5+ years of experience in a similar environment with profound experience of sensor systems and
    instrumentation and low power embedded systems

  • Previous experience with Software / Firmware development and mass manufacturing of miniaturized
    electronics

  • Experience with wearable and medical devices (health monitoring) is a strong plus and training or
    experience in the healthcare industry is a plus

  • Ability to find pragmatic innovative solutions to technical and physiological challenges in an environment of
    fast pace and limited resources

  • Capability to analyze complex technical issues, quickly derive appropriate actions and independently iterate
    on prototype stages

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, adhere to timelines/milestones and
    work on long term projects while still contributing to short term tasks and actions

  • Willingness to work in a cross functional, project driven and highly regulated and documented
    environment

  • Strong communication skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds

  • Fluent in English; German and other languages a plus

  • Entrepreneurial, “hands-on”, highly self-motivated and driven, empathic
