Category Manager (m/f)

Business Units Industrial Solutions and Automotive

You will support the Head of Procurement in the definition of the category and purchasing strategy for all kind of electrical/electronical parts for the global market. You bring an analytical mindset with strong communication skills to achieve contractual agreements within the category.

Your Tasks

• Evaluates and defines category & purchasing strategy for all kind of electrical/electronical parts


• Manages the assigned category spend of around 20 Mio CHF p.a.


• Negotiate all major framework agreements within the category Participates in development teams for new products, services and solutions (R&D, IT)


• Optimizes net-working capital under consideration of availability of the parts and optimizes the stock value


• Ensures complete Master Data Management for procurement in the category


• Builds up an efficient reporting system


• Defines and monitors targets related to the category


• Support use of eProcurement systems and ensures full evaluation of potential opportunities


• Support the project buyers


• Reports to the Head of Procurement

Your Profile

• Technical education or background required


• University degree in engineering or related technical studies is an advantage


• Ideally min. 3 years work experience in procurement, project buying or category management in a global organization


• Deep know-how for electrical/electronical parts in Easter Europe & Asia a plus


• Experience in international process and project management


• Ability to create strong contractual agreements with minimum of legal assistance


• Very good communication skills in German and English


• Proactive and persistent character with a positive mind-set and integrative personality


• Strong analytical skills with a structured way of working and hands-on mentality


• Expected willingness to travel worldwide, especially Eastern Europe & Asia (ca. 25%)
