For our renewables trading team, we are looking for a highly motivated, team oriented and communicative person with offices located in Olten.


 


Your function



  • As a key part of a small team which is operating on a 7/7 day shift basis around the renewables portfolio you will be trading mainly intraday as well as standard short term trading products.

  • You will ensure operation process and execute profitable trading strategies during day time.

  • Around these activities you will take the responsibility to trade and steer a virtual power plant portfolio of renewable energy from wind, solar as well as flexible assets such as biogas and others in real-time.

  • As a strong team player, you are keen to share your knowledge and strategies with your team colleagues as well as with the nearby 24/7 shift team who is responsible for the operations during the night hours.

  • Further development and implementation of portfolio optimization processes and intraday proprietary trading strategies in the entire team pro-actively is a key element of your role.

  • Daily assessment and analysis of trading performance and sharing the results with your team colleagues will be key to react and adapt quickly to changed market conditions. 

  • While the focus of the trading activities of the Renewables Team is currently mainly on the German market, an extension of the perimeter to other markets is very likely in the future.

  • Furthermore, you will become part of an exciting digital trading platform development project enabling automated and algorithm-based trading and optimization strategies.

Your profile



  • A higher education degree in finance, economics or engineering.

  • You have some years of trading experience around a renewable’s portfolio and/or the German short term and intraday power market.

  • You have a strong motivation to trade in intraday markets on a regular basis and you have the skills to extract value out of a renewable portfolio in Germany.

  • Team work is essential, you are a strong team player and communicate person and thus keen to assess, develop and implement trading strategies in the entire team by sharing knowledge, coaching of your colleagues and injecting a positive spirit day by day in a challenging environment.

  • A profound knowledge of ancillary services markets in Germany is beneficial and helps you to under-stand the essential value drivers.

  • A strong commercial view and the ability to keep a cool head combined with a good sense of risk management is one of your key strengths.

  • Fluency in English and good skills in German is a must, any other language knowledge is of great help.

  • Extended VBA/R/Python programming skills combined with a strong analytical mindset are highly beneficial.

  • Swiss nationality or citizen of a Member State of the European Union.
