Marketing and Communications Manager

For our headquarters in Basel we are looking for a full-time Marketing and Communications Manager, based in the Basel office, from March 2020 or by arrangement.

Your Tasks

• Development of marketing strategies in alignment with MDPI’s corporate strategy, including the communication plan and deadlines


• Budget management, including allocation to corporate sponsorship activities


• Responsibility for internal and external communication, including media and public relations


• Responsibility for content of external communication material (blogs, brochures, newsletters, corporate social media channels)


• Oversight of promotional mailings


• Oversight of externally sponsored conferences and events for all MDPI journals


• Collection and analysis of customer feedback


• Traveling and on-site support during academic conferences


• Conference sponsorship

 Your Profile

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in communications or marketing


• 3–5 years’ experience in communications and marketing (experience in a scientific or publishing context would be an advantage)


• Excellent level of English (German would be an advantage)


• Able to work in a multicultural environment


• Conceptual capabilities


• Excellent time management skills; ability to manage multiple details and deadlines in a fast-paced environment; excellent oral and written skills


• Familiarity with the Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)


• Familiarity with HTML/CSS
