We enable discovery and early development of drug candidates in a rich portfolio of small molecules, large molecules, oligonucleotides and gene therapies. The Investigative Safety department within PS is responsible for the conduct of all in vitro work to determine the disposition and safety of new Roche medicines.

An experienced and enthusiastic in vitro ADME scientist is sought with in-depth experience in the area of active drug transport of small molecules (solute carriers and ABC transporters) and plasma protein binding to join the Cellular Transport group. Our group focuses on the development and application of diverse in vitro systems to investigate active transport processes of new drug candidates (e.g. small and large molecules, oligonucleotides, gene therapy), with a focus on barrier tissues, including the intestine, liver, kidney and blood:brain-barrier.

In this position you will:

  • Lead a small lab responsible for the development, characterization and validation of in vitro models and their application to study transport and protein binding properties of new drug candidates

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in interactions with peers and project team members to discuss results in the context of the projects and to coordinate studies conducted with external partners.

  • Be responsible to maintain state-of-the art methodologies, people development and with your team for the lab infrastructure
