Job Description


This is an exciting new role within one of the new leading company priority areas of affordability which is both a differentiator for our company and high-profile exposure on a critical business driver. During your tenure, you will become a key critical contributor as we build and enhance the learning on Affordability.  The role will report to an Affordability Solutions Director, Affordability Team. There is a direct need now to successfully address affordability concerns of payers, policy makers, providers and other health care stakeholders. Patients that must finance significant co-pays, and in some markets fully pay for medicines out-of-pocket, require ways to improve affordability. We need to develop and execute Financial Affordability Solutions that can help solve for this problem for patients and payers, while defending the prices needed to ensure continued funding of research and development of new medicines in our business model.


Our Market Access team monitors population demographics and develops solutions to give patients access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society.


Description


The Affordability Team in Global Market Access is seeking an experienced high-talent professional to accelerate the execution of Financial Affordability Solutions, build collaboration with external partners and enable scaling of the solutions globally.


Examples of Financial Affordability Solutions (not exhaustive) are private health insurance, amortization, third-party loans, subscription plan, crowd-funding, results-based financing.  Examples of external partners include but are not limited to insurance companies, reinsurers, insurtechs, financial institutions, fintechs and academia.


The position includes international/global travel of up to 40%


Primary activities include, but are not limited to:



  • Contribute to developing strategy and identifying external partners for Financial Affordability Solutions

  • Support in liaison with strategic partners and external thought leaders for Financial Affordability Solutions

  • Act as trailblazer to lead cross-functional team to test, execute and measure impact of Financial Affordability Solutions

  • Project management of key affordability projects in the markets



  • Act as subject-matter expert:



  • to provide consulting advice to Affordability Solutions Directors in the regions and Regional Commercial Team on financial affordability solutions.

  • to participate in cross-functional team to develop as well as update tools and playbooks to support implementation in markets

  • to upskill the Affordability Team and markets to implement and sustain financial solutions

  • to prepare material, lead discussion and share best practices with Insurance Community and at Access University


Qualifications


Education and Minimum Requirements:


University degree and Masters’s degree (MBA preferred), with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in


(re-)insurance, financial institutions, fintechs or consulting.


Preferred Experience and Skills:



  • Previous experience in Market Access or commercial roles

  • Previous consulting experience a plus

  • Expert process discipline and result oriented. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects with cross-functional team in a fluid environment

  • Ability to develop effective trust-based relationships, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the business and collaborate with external partners to deliver results

  • Ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds

  • Strong analytical skills and impactful communicator

  • Ability to creatively solve complex issues in an ambiguous environment

  • Highly-driven and self-motivated

  • Fluency in English, additional languages are desirable
