Richemont has a strong ambition to transform its business model towards New Retail. The Group wants to pursue its strong development into the digitisation of its commerce value chain, from product sourcing, logistics, to shopping and returns, and to leverage big data to provide full intelligence on the customer journey. Rely on the recent acquisition of YNAP, Watchfinder and the strategic partnership with Alibaba Group to pursue this journey, in which data plays a central and decisive role.


In order to successfully deliver its ambition, Richemont is reinforcing its data capabilities and recruiting a Chief data officer. Reporting to the Group Digital division, the Chief data officer will define and deliver the data roadmap of the Group.


 


 


HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?


 


■By Acting as a true stakeholder of the Maisons, to enhance the client experience trough data: data management to the retail but not only, management and coordination of all datas for the other functions (supply chain, HR, customer services, etc.)


■You will be in charge to define the long-term Group Data Strategy with Maisons, group functions & regions to lead the implementation of the Group Data Operating Model; as well as to design and supervise, in close collaboration with the Group Technology team, the creation of the technical data architecture, in close collaboration with Group Technology and business stakeholders (Maisons, functions & regions)


■You will support & rely on the Master Data Management ecosystem


■You will have to create & animate the Data Competence Centre for the Group, with the objective to:



  • Develop data products and support initiatives within and across domains

  • Incubate Data Analysts and Data Scientists of tomorrow

  • Conduct Data research and open innovation projects

  • Coordinate/animate the community of Data Analyst and Data Scientists in place in the different regions/ Maisons and share best practices

  • Manage the teams of Data Head office & Data Competence Centre.


■You will define and rollout data governance (e.g., data domains scope, accesses, playbook, golden rules) at the group level; and guarantee the data compliance in line with the with group defined standards.


 


 


HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCESS WITH US?


 


■You have a Master's Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems or related field, MBA is a plus; with 15+ years of Data science/ Data analysis experience with a leading player in the field and 15+ years of management experience


■You have proven expertise in:



  • Data Management including industry best practices

  • Inventing and deploying data products, with a focus on high-impact, quick-win solutions

  • Using data tools and technology

  • Managing data scientists and analysts

  • Scouting data talent

  • Dealing with C-level positions


■And also these skills:



  • Strategic project development and implementation planning skills

  • Self-starter; ability to operate in a changing environment

  • Knowledge of direct retail online and offline

  • Strong business acumen

  • Capable of seeing the big strategic picture, but also of stepping into operational details when required

  • Proven experience of operating at a strategic level to achieve business goals and influence change with strong capability to translate executive strategy into practical actions

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, capacity to build relationships at a senior level

  • Diplomatic skills, ability to function in complex situations meeting

  • Ability to adapt style to different cultures

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

  • Multi-tasking and Project Management skills; consulting experience is a plus

  • Meticulous and time-conscious (fast-paced environment – flexible to be able to deliver)

  • Willing to travel on a regular basis (30% or more)

The Chief Data Officer will be in charge of Richemont's Data Head Office at our HQ in Geneva and will have a functional reporting line on the different data domain leads of the Group.
