The position advertises for a PostDoctoral candidate (100%) in Molecular and Cellular Biology in the field of Human Endocrinology and is fully funded by federal grants. Candidates will join the translational laboratory of Prof. Pitteloud at the University of Lausanne.


Probable extension of contract in case of further funding.

Contexte


The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the areas of medical care, medical research and training.


Mission


The candidate will work on projects aiming to develop patients-specific cellular model of neuronal development in order to further understand the human disease “congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism” resulted from a defects in the ontogeny of the GnRH neurons. The work will also involved human genetics and bioinformatics data. The candidate will apply a variety of molecular and cellular approaches to patient-related mutations and samples (IPS cells, CRISPR/CAS9, primary and cell lines) to help discover the role and function of novel genes involved in the pathogenesis of congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and puberty. The use and development of single cell analysis and animal models is also anticipated.


Profil


PhD degree in molecular biology or developmental biology is warranted. A previous experience in IPS cells development or CRISPR/CAS9 technology is preferred.


The desire, motivation and ability to work as part of a collaborative team dedicated to researching the neuroendocrine basis of reproduction and puberty in an excellent international setting.
