This is an outstanding opportunity to join our Group Compliance Team in a senior role that will provide expert support and challenge to the Group Investment Management business at our Head Office in Zurich as well as play a key part in developing the Investments Center of Excellence.


 
Your Role
 

As a Senior Compliance Officer for Investments,  reporting to the Head of Compliance Business Coverage at Corporate Center in Switzerland you will:


 



  • Building strong and collaborative relationships, in a global matrix organization, with senior Investment Management leadership at regional and local country levels across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Providing assurance services around Investment Management processes and controls to assist Investment Management in identifying, managing and mitigating risks.

  • Providing expert day-to-day advice and independent challenge to Investment Management professionals to enable them to successfully respond to business and regulatory changes and satisfy their ongoing compliance obligations.

  • Continuously building your knowledge of relevant local laws, rules and regulations to provide Investment Management with a forward-looking perspective on the business impact of future regulations and compliance solutions to respond appropriately to legal/ regulatory developments.

  • Working collaboratively with experts in Group Compliance, Group Risk Management and Group Audit to ensure an aligned and efficient approach.

  • Advising Investment Management in developing business policies and procedures, reflecting regulations, firm policies, industry standards and best practices.

  • Providing or supporting ongoing Compliance training.

  • Developing appropriate Compliance management information/ reporting and attending senior Investment Management meetings to provide independent advice and challenge. 


 


Work location is Zürich, Switzerland. The travel requirement is up to 40%.


 


Required Skills and Experience   

As a Senior Compliance Officer for Investments, your skills and qualifications will include:


 



  • 8+ years’ experience in a senior investments or securities dealing Audit, Compliance or Business role, either in a global investment banking, asset management, insurance, banking or a consulting firm environment. Preference will be given to candidates with compliance assurance or audit experience.

  • A relevant degree or industry equivalent qualification.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of the securities dealing, asset management and general financial markets regulatory environment (e.g. market abuse, securities dealing, market infrastructure, etc.).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently present complex matters to all levels of management clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to perform assurance/ audit activities, analyze risks and controls, assess when controls are not designed and operating effectively, and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.

  • Practical experience of working in a global matrix organization would be an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.

  • Able to use initiative and apply expert judgment.

  • Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills.

  • Self-motivation and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

  • Proficiency in German and English (in each case, Level C1–C2)
