Purpose of Position This position will prepare, support, and help individuals, teams, and the organisation in making technological and/or organisational change. This role delivers stakeholder engagement strategies at all levels of the organisation, appropriately supported by fit-for-purpose communication and training plans. In the delivery of these initiatives, the Manager will work with project managers and engage with internal stakeholders and/or focal points to ensure success.

Job Description




Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance is a public-private partnership committed to saving children's lives and protecting people's health by increasing equitable use of vaccines in lower-income countries. The Vaccine Alliance brings together developing country and donor governments, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, the vaccine industry, technical agencies, civil society, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other private sector partners. Gavi uses innovative finance mechanisms, including co-financing by recipient countries, to secure sustainable funding and adequate supply of quality vaccines. Since 2000, Gavi has contributed to the immunisation of nearly 760 million children and the prevention of more than 13 million future deaths.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES

•    Develop, coordinate and implement change management strategies and plans for technology projects driving organisational transformation;
•    Minimise user disruption, reluctance and frustration related to changes;
•    Maximise change adoption and project ROI (speed of adoption, utilisation, proficiency);
•    Drive increased organisational awareness of change management principles and benefits and drive adoption of change management best practices, thus helping to establish a change-ready culture in Gavi.
 
Main Duties/Responsibilities




•    Change communication: Build awareness of the need for change and the desire to participate in support of the change. Develop, coordinate, track and implement targeted communications to impacted groups;
•    Stakeholder mobilisation: Communicate with employees about business reasons and nature of the change. Gather, understand and help minimise reluctance, uncertainties, people risk, and frustration related to change. Communicate on the impact of the change and people future role and responsibilities in the change;
•    Leadership engagement: Build coalition of support with senior management and line managers. Coach and train leaders for change management understanding, implementation and sponsorship;
•    Training: Identify the skills and capabilities that employees need and recognise any gaps that exist in training requirements. Support in project training coordination and format optimisation;
•    Project management: when needed, contribute to/run selected projects, determining scope and objectives, coordinating team members, managing the project resources and maintaining the project schedule.

Work Experience




Work experience:
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in change management, preferably in technology-driven transformations, designing and implementing comprehensive change plans which increase employee change adoption;
•    2 to 3 years’ project management experience, preferably managing projects in the IT space is highly preferred;
•    Certification, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communication, project management or change management is preferred;
•    Experience working with/good understanding of key technology platforms, e.g. O365, SAP, Salesforce is desirable.
Skills/Competencies




•    Ability to analyse situations, people impacts, identify recommendations, and follow up on implementation;
•    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office tools for reporting purposes;
•    Hands on experience with a variety of technologies – a self-starter with new technologies;
•    Experience working with remote, cross-functional teams;
•    Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices;
•    Communications:
      o    Ability to translate technical/project communications in a positive, benefit-oriented and user-friendly way; treating all individuals with fairness and respect;
      o    Show great drive and commitment to the organisation mission; inspire others;
      o    Maintain high standards of personal integrity;
      o    Ability to engage with public speaking.

Languages




•    Written and spoken fluency in English;
•    French is an asset.
 
Academic Qualifications




Academic:
•    Certification, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communication, project management or change management is preferred.
