Purpose of the job


 


This position is responsible for managing a specific key account or group of assigned key accounts.The role reports to the Sales Director of Mars Switzerland and plays a key part of the Sales Management team. Strong leadership skills and ability to define and drive the execution of our category strategies, provide leadership in motivating associates and building a winning and engaged team in the Swiss market are key elements in this position.Key accountabilities will include developing account plans, monitoring the execution of activity plans in stores, visiting stores to strengthen relationships and identifying opportunities. The National Sales Manager is accountable for the achievement of sales value, display, distribution as well as trade spend targets and profitability of his team.


Principle responsibilities


 


Relationship Management 



  • Manage assigned key accounts and agree on joint business plans, applying the Mars Inc. collaboration standards

  • Build strong relationships with customers, acting as the key point of contact for each account and providing proactive, responsive customer service

  • Drive category growth through providing expertise to support sales activities

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders


 


Sales Execution 



  • Develop, lead and implement the annual negotiations strategy

  • Accountable for the execution of annual account plans across all segments

  • Plan, monitor and report on key account performance


 


Business Development 



  • Pro-actively seek and develop new customer opportunities / opportunities to grow


 


People 



  • Build an effective and highly engaged team and act in a line management capacity (team development, coaching, succession planning and support with a view to nurturing future talent)


 


Qualifications 



  • Master or Bachelor degree (Uni/FH) in Economics

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position in the FMCG sector (subject to the size of Key Account portfolio)

  • Relationship Management Skills, Customer Focus and high drive for consistent results

  • Strong communication, networking and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in German and English
