OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE



  • Supports development of environmental programs, standards and tools to promote compliance with Company and regulatory requirements, manage and mitigate environmental risk, and improve performance

  • Supports the implementation of environmental compliance programs across the Company by establishing appropriate internal controls and measurement systems to ensure environmental requirements are being met. 

  • Supports / Leads EHS due diligence assessments for Takeda real property transfer activities.

  • Provides on-site and remote technical support for the implementation of environmental programs, the mitigation of environmental issues and the training of stakeholders


ACCOUNTABILITIES



  • Reactive - Provides on-site and remote technical support for environmental matters / issues (e.g., environmental p-SIF/SIF root causes analysis  and CAPAs , emergency response,  regulatory compliance including environmental permits, remediation plans, wastewater and air emissions treatment design &operation, standards and requirements implementation, etc) to regional / OpU leads, sites and other stakeholders. Support development and continuous update of environment risk profile for Takeda

  • Preventive - Identifies potential organizational environmental risks, recommends and develops programs/processes to mitigate them. Supports development and implementation of environmental technical standards and training for effective implementation. Supports sites with Environmental Aspects and Impacts assessments. Support EHS due diligence assessments for real property transactions

  • Proactive – Supports development of the environmental compliance strategy.  Supports expansion and implementation of the Environmental Management System including the. Supports the Environment pSIF / SIF Program with the Regional/OpU leads to ensure consistent global implementation. Develop and issue environmental alerts to promote sharing of ‘learnings’ from environmental incidents across the organization.

  • Partner- Collaborates with stakeholders on environmental compliance, risk and sustainability matters (e.g., developing standards, position papers, technical guidance, capital project assessment, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND SKILLS:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental or Engineering is required (other engineering or science-related degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis).

  • Position requires 5+ years experience of facility or corporate experience in this field and 2+ years experience in the pharmaceutical and/or chemical industries in manufacturing/R&D environments.

  • Solid undertanding of environment regulations and management systemsMulti-lingual capability (English plus at least one other language) is considered a plus.
