We are looking for an inspirational leader for our global Design & Manufacturing department:

Head of Global Engineering
reporting to the Vice President of Design & Manufacturing of the Systems Division.
 

Your main responsibilities are:

• Lead our global compressor-engineering team in Switzerland and India with specific focus to define and continuously improve engineering processes that meet current and future needs of the organization consisting of following main areas:
  
  
  
  • Sizing (Compressor selection and studies)
  
  
  • Project Execution (Project Engineering incl. CAD and project/master data management)
  
  
  • Product Design Standards, Maintenance and Improvements
  
  
  • Technical (operational) support for Sales, suppliers and internal manufacturing and assembly sites as well as Service organization
  
  


• Ensure technically correct compressor solutions within existing product portfolio and new market implementations


• Continuously maintain and improve existing compressor and part portfolio and related master data and documents with focus to reduce cost and increase reliability


• Proper evaluation, implementation and efficient use and improvement of tools supporting all engineering processes together with IT


• Maintain and regularly update the compressor cost book including the administration of options


• Provide training documentation for products within technical responsibility


• Ensure proper collaboration and coordination between Engineering competence and support centers globally


• Train and develop teams and set and align targets on a global level


• Plan and manage required resources and infrastructure to meet cost, quality and delivery targets in own area


• Initiating and maintaining strategic relationships with stakeholders and partners inside/outside the organization. Maintain interfaces with customers both internal and external to ascertain customer satisfaction and take appropriate action to ensure customer satisfaction relative to group performance. Enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.


• Representative at international technical forums with focus on engineering in relation to reciprocating compressors (like API618 committee or similar)

You hold a certificate in higher technical education (master's degree in engineering, business admiration preferred) and have a proven record of at least 10 years of design experience with compressor systems.  Furthermore, you have about 5 years' experience in leading large technical teams, in Switzerland as well as globally all around the world with prior experience in recruiting, developing and performance management. Additionally, you know how to lead virtual teams. 

As an inspiring leader you motivate and drive a team of Engineering Managers and their departments and are a strong problem solver with good decision-making skills. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills are completed with a fluent communication in German and English. You have execution and quality skills and are strong in project management. You have an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset and the ability to transfer ideas into concepts and initiatives creating impact.
