What it's about

The primary purpose of the Partners Group Summer Internship is to provide a pathway to a private markets career for candidates from backgrounds that are typically under-represented in financial services. It is a unique opportunity for university students and recent graduates with top credentials to launch an exciting and challenging career with a world-leading private markets manager.

It is a hands-on program designed to equip successful applicants with the financial and analytical skills required to succeed in private markets investing, through a mixture of teaching and on-the-job experience. Successful completion of the Internship could lead to the offer of a position in our Financial Analyst Program.

• Outstanding academic credentials: The Internship is open to penultimate and final year undergraduate and graduate level students. We accept candidates from any field of study, as long as they can demonstrate a genuine interest in private markets.


• Strong analytical capabilities: Investing in private markets requires professionals who can quickly and comprehensively learn and master new skills, with an emphasis on quantitative and analytical capabilities. Candidates must enjoy solving problems in a high-pressure environment.

What we offer

• Comprehensive private markets investment training with the potential to lead to a permanent position with the firm: Following the Internship, participants can expect to be equipped for a successful career in the private markets investment industry, a growing segment of the asset management industry.


• On-the-job exposure across a wide range of industries, geographies and live deal situations: Internship participants will spend the summer in one of our investment teams (private equity, private debt, private real estate and private infrastructure) where they will gain exposure to all the stages of a private markets transaction – from investment sourcing, assessment and due diligence to closing and managing the portfolio assets.


• Independent investment project: Over the course of the summer, each intern will develop an investment opportunity that they will propose to their team. This provides exposure to all aspects of an investment analysis. Previous intern proposals have progressed to be actively pursued investment opportunities.


• Regular mentoring from an experienced manager and continuous exposure to senior members of the firm through the course of training and business activities.
