The Competence Center for Biocatalysis (CCBIO) at the Institute for Chemistry and Biotechnology (ICBT) is recruiting aResearch Associate Biocatalysis 100 %The successful candidate will be part of our effort to harness enzyme engineering for the development of next-generation industrial biocatalysts.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
Execution of innovative research projects in the field of biocatalysis and enzyme engineering
Support in the acquisition and implementation of funded R&D projects with partners from industry and the public sector
Development and expansion of the state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure
Supervision of internships, Bachelor's and Master's theses
You have a university degree in chemistry, biochemistry or biotechnology with a dissertation or several years of industrial experience in the relevant field. You have theoretical and practical knowledge in (computational) protein engineering, biochemical reactions, enzyme assay development and analytics (GC, GC-MS, HPLC-MS). Experience in structural biology is highly desirable. You are motivated to conduct research in a future-oriented scientific field and are interested in the technical implementation of new methods. You are enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary environment and able to communicate well with scientific and industrial partners. Curiosity, didactic skills and enjoyment to work with students complete your profile.
