The Manager of Quality and Concrete Technology supports LH Ready Mix countries through: developing and implementing Quality Plans and processes; analyzing and improving product performance and consistency; identifying and implementing cost savings through Mix Design Optimization strategies; mix design development for VAPs and conventional concretes; and troubleshooting and root cause analysis for claims and performance challenges. This role participates in RMX Performance Improvement Projects in countries in addition to Steering Committees for Research and Development projects at the LH Group level and the Global RMX Managers Course.

Responsibilities

• Health and Safety: engage with the workforce to reinforce safety behaviour at all Ready Mix plants, laboratories and jobsites, ensuring compliance with LafargeHolcim Policies and Guidelines. 


• Mix Design Optimization: engage with countries to analyze, evaluate and select  raw materials, analyze concrete performance characteristics (KPIs) and quality processes, and identify, action plan and implement cost savings opportunities.


• Performance Management: support countries in the analysis of product quality performance, including the identification and implementation of effective action plans for product performance improvement. Ensure compliance with country specific Norms and Standards.


• Quality Process: assist countries in the development and implementation of a Quality Management System. Act as a resource for the development and implementation of Quality Plans and Processes. Evaluate facilities for quality management, mix development, identify gaps to minimum requirements, and recommend action plans for implementation. 


• Product Development: support countries in the development of products and technical offers for large jobsites. Provide technical support for the development and management of Value Added Products. Participate in R&D Steercos as required.


• Training and Development: support the evaluation of technical competencies in countries. Identify training needs, and provide training/coaching/mentoring where and how required.


• Projects: Leadership/Project Management or specific support expertise for Group level RMX Projects.

Education/Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Materials or Construction Engineering preferred


• Masters Degree in Business Administration an asset


• Masters Degree in Engineering an asset

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of RMX Technical experience with 5 years as Technical/Quality Manager for a large RMX business


• Experience as a RMX General Manager an asset

Knowledge & Skills

• Ready Mix Industry production/operations, sales and quality management


• Concrete Mix Design Methodology, including conventional and Value Added Products


• Material Science of Concrete including Norms, Standards, Applications, Construction Methodologies


• Quality Management Systems and Processes for Ready Mix Concrete

Language Requirements

English – professional/native competency. French, German and Spanish would be assets.
