Job Description:


The goal of CORE (Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence) is to generate value evidence, support both regulatory commitments and reimbursement activities and collaborate on the development of market access strategies for our company`s products throughout the world.


We are currently seeking a Director, CORE Region EEMEA to join the region team and focus in the area of oncology. Under the guidance of the CORE EEMEA Lead, the incumbent will have the responsibility of supporting the interpretation and translation of CORE integrated evidence strategies for oncology products developed at the global level to our company affiliates in the EEMEA region.


The scope of this support will include Health Technology Assessment (HTA)/reimbursement dossier submission and overall Real World Evidence (RWE) activities that tailor these global strategies to the country strategies in the region. This process includes close alignment with the CORE oncology groups regarding strategy and plans, as well as having a high-level awareness of the setting and challenges in the EEMEA countries. A close collaboration with regional above-markets teams (including Medical Affairs, Access & Pricing, and Policy) is required to ensure consistency and alignment with strategies.


Another focus of the incumbent will be to collaborate with key markets to identify evidence gaps as well as how to support the value discussion, and address these from the Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) perspective, including supporting development of meaningful tools and arguments to guide discussion and interaction with oncology stakeholders, payers, health systems and clinicians at country level.


The role involves interactions with company country affiliates to have an understanding of country-specific HTA/reimbursement needs and to support timely and efficient HTA/reimbursement submission, including support country-specific adaptation of the global cost-effectiveness (CE) and budget impact (BI) models in EEMEA.


The incumbent should be able to work with local teams around HEOR strategy and support and train the teams in relation to local HEOR and Local Data Generation (LDG) study execution. Another important element is to support company colleagues as well as local thought leaders/researchers to understand and utilize evidence in the areas of HTA, HEOR and RWE, enabling them to make correct interpretations of HEOR studies as well as how to interpret CE and BI analysis for oncology health policy decision-making at various levels in healthcare systems


This position will focus in oncology, and specific roles include, but are not limited to:



  • Understanding of HTA, market access, and policy environment for oncology products in the EEMEA region to critically assess drivers and barriers to reimbursement and market access and identify value evidence needs.

  • Ensuring that CORE oncology activities are optimized within the EEMEA region and actively communicate across functions to ensure efficiency in regard to alignment and optimal support.

  • Providing scientific health economic and outcomes research support in oncology in the EEMEA region.

  • Align CORE activities, including studies, models, publications, and advice for the priority markets in the EEMEA region – working in close collaboration with the above-market teams in Medical Affairs, Access & Pricing, and Policy.

  • Maintain awareness of scientific and HEOR developments within oncology, both in terms of new methodology and new activities.

  • Presenting oncology HEOR data internally to the EEMEA oncology organization and externally at international/regional/national congresses, and publishing articles in scientific journals


Position Qualifications:


Education Minimum Requirement:



  • Doctoral (preferred) degree from a recognized school of medicine, public health, management, pharmacy, or economics or

  • Master’s Degree required from a recognized school of medicine, public health, management, pharmacy, or economics


Required Experience and Skills:



  • In-depth understanding of HTA/reimbursement and market access needs in key markets

  • 5+ years post PhD or 7+ years post Master’s degree of relevant experience in the areas of health economics, outcomes research, market access, HTA or related field.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of clinical, epidemiological, or health economic studies

  • Demonstrated expertise in the fields of outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology or health economics, and/or health technology assessment.

  • A track record of scientific presentations and publications.

  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills


Preferred Experience and Skills:



  • Experience in Oncology related outcomes research, epidemiology or health economics preferred.
