Overview


In line with LafargeHolcim Group HSE Strategy Ambition “0”:


 



  • Provide expertise and support to the entire organization through the development and management of new Group Projects and Governance Programs and HSE standards;

  • Support the Head of Group HSE for defining and implementing appropriate strategies towards Group HSE ambitions;

  • Lead the Group HSE Audit program planning, execution and monitoring;

  • Organize, develop and launch new global projects to support Ambition “0” strategy;

  • Oversee and manage the process for development and updating of Group Standards and related supporting tools;


Responsibilities



  • Oversee planning and effective of execution Group HSE Audit and Assurance processes including HSE Audit, HSE Unit Gap Assessment and HSE Verification Audits;

  • Monitor and manage Audit and Assurance results ensuring performance outcomes are assimilated and related KPIs shared for scorecards, tracking, follow-up and analysis;

  • Lead the project management process for major Group-wide initiatives targeting reduction of serious injuries and fatalities;

  • Leverage internal and external resources available to ensure projects are aligned with business needs, have substantial involvement/input from stakeholders, and are professionally executed;

  • Take the lead for developing/updating and rolling out the new Group LH HSE Standards in line with the overall Group HSE strategy Ambition “0”;

  • Work with SMEs to develop/update Standards and supporting tools that are relevant, usable and follow the Standards development process;

  • Perform internal and external benchmarking to make recommendations on format and content of the HSEMS, HSE initiatives and deliverables, targets and goals;

  • Understand and analyze the overall governance for Group HSE requirements and Group HSE assurance; and assess opportunities for continuous improvement globally;

  • Attend leadership meetings in Regions to represent the Group HSE team and activity when necessary. 


Education/Qualifications



  • Preferable tertiary qualification in HSE or Engineering or related field;


Experience



  • At least 12-15 years operational experience in either an HSE function in industry;

  • Worked previously in a global or regional role operational/functional role that has required strong influencing, leadership and change management skills;

  • Strong project management experience.


Knowledge & Skills



  • Any internationally recognized HSE accreditation will be seen as advantage (if the candidate does not hold such an accreditation it will be a requirement to attain such in the first year of the role);

  • Operational experience in Cement, Aggregates and/or Concrete will be seen as an advantage;

  • Rigor and methodology;

  • Analytical skills;

  • Project Management;

  • Business writing;


Behavioural competencies:  



  • Coaching/Counseling, Communication, Influencing, Driving change, Team facilitation, Building networks.

  • The Head of HSE Projects and Governance will be required to directly manage well a small team of HSE professionals. The ability to set direction, empower and delegate will be crucial.


Language Requirements

Must be fluent in English (written and spoken). Any other languages is an advantage.
