Utilities Engineer (German + English speaking)

JOB PURPOSE:


The role of Utilities Engineer consists to be the primary point of contact during any project execution on site for any tasks related to Black Utilities design and coordination activities. The Utilities Engineer will lead small CAPEX projects in the area of Black Utilities. The Utilities Engineer will also be the engineering responsible person for the implementation on site of the Energy program and any related ISO certification.
The Utilities Engineer reports to the Responsible Engineer Black Utilities, who is the engineering person accountable for the Black Utilities systems on site.
 


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  1. Deliver small CAPEX projects for new and modified utilities equipment by providing feasibility study, URS, Project plan, budget, project management, costs control, commissioning and documentation.

  2. Work closely with the vendors and installation contractors to ensure that the utilities are designed and built to the agreed functionality, schedule and budget.

  3. Coordinate with the user team to ensure that the projects are according to the Biogen utilities standard requirements.

  4. -Responsible person in engineering for the establishment and deployment of an Energy program in the plant. Develop and maintain metrics and regular reports to wider audience.

  5. Ensure that the energy reduction initiatives and measures are correctly implemented, and applied within the Manufacturing and Utilities operations activities.

  6. Support the ISO certification on site related to Energy program. Could be Biogen point of contact with authorities for Energy topics.

  7. Creates and maintains various project documents like drawings (P&IDs, layout), procedures, standards, specifications.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent by experience.

  • Fluent in German is mandatory. Good and proficient Technical English knowledge (B2 minimum).

  • At least more than 5-8 years’ experience working as an Utilities engineer in Pharma and Industrial Production activities.

  • Reliable team player and able to work with multiple departments at different level of the organization (engineering, utilities operations, EHS, …)

  • Experience in pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), commissioning and qualification, is a plus.

  • Software: Siemens S7 and Desigo CC, DeltaV knowledge is a plus.

  • Good knowledge of Swiss Federal and cantonal regulation for building equipment, waste and environmental regulations, energy reduction goals and regulations.

  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
