Job Description


ACCOUNTABILITIES


Major Accountabilities:



  • Safety first: drive safety culture and ensure adherence to relevant safety standards throughout the lifecycle of CAPEX projects

  • Team Leadership: Leads Biologics Operating Unit Engineering Team to provide holistic engineering and maintenance support to the Biologics Operating Unit.

  • Solution and Improvement Design: Develops and sustainably achieves capacity plans and fulfillment targets.

  • Engineering Support: Maintains equipment and facilities, performs facilities management including operations of utilities and critical systems, provides technical support, and supports capital planning and execution.

  • Thought Leadership: Fosters environment for knowledge sharing and development of engineering expertise throughout the engineering organization.

  • Customer Interaction: Effectively collaborates with customers (OpUs, Regions, GELT) to understand issues and opportunities. Inspires and partners with them to install pragmatic and innovative improvements.

  • People and Culture: Be a role model for Takeda-ism, the Leadership Behaviors and the 4 commitments (PTRB) in everything that is done.

  • Lead investment projects in manufacturing network in the region/OpU and oversight short and midterm capacity- and resource planning for projects

  • Harmonized maintenance and qualification strategy in Region/OpU

  • Support the establishment of the global project engineering standard processes, policies and procedures, implementing common standards on regional level

  • Contribute to establish site master plans and regional master plans with facility, process, utility  and engineering focus


Key Responsibilities:



  • Facilitate roll out of process of all TAKEDA Engineering processes, standard, policies and best practices from global team sites and represent the regional needs in development of these global control elements

  • Oversee and be, together with Site governance teams, the engineering governance of small and mid-sized projects executed across sites

  • Act as the engineering business partner to the GMS Regional Head and represent engineering in the regional management structure

  • Act as a single point of contact for the Engineering organizations at the sites in the GMS region and drive effective communications between all parts of the Engineering organization

  • Represent the whole region in the Global Engineering Management structure balancing regional needs with global efforts to ensure an effective global collaboration

  • Assist the CAPEX planning function in Global Engineering to ensure effective prioritization of projects within the GMS region understanding the bigger TAKEDA picture and ensuring that the global business needs are given full attention in regional prioritization but also that the regional prioritization gets appropriate balancing with other company needs

  • Facilitate and escalating engineering issues, identify needs for technical and/or project management support ensuring have the right resources at the right time working with the right issues


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:



  • Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. / M. Sc. / B. Sc.)

  • University degree in mechanical / process / chemical engineering or equivalent

  • Experienced in working with internal and external project groups

  • Several years of engineering experience in pharmaceutical industry

  • Willingness to travel internationally

  • Languages: English essential, others helpful
