We are looking for a remarkable Junior Technical Product Manager for Carotenoids and Nutritional-Ingredients to join DSM Nutritional Products.
Location: Kaiseraugst, Switzerland
The Challenge
You will be part of a global technical product manager team for Carotenoids and New Nutritional Ingredients. Your main responsibility will be the continuous improvement of the production processes of the respective products in order to contribute to their strategic positioning.
In this role you will be the main interface between the manufacturing sites and the global functions as business, innovation, supply chain or regulatory affairs.
The Position
The key responsibilities in this position will be:
• to build and maintain technical expertise and know-how in manufacturing of Carotenoids and Nutritional Ingredients and to contribute to the strategic positioning of the products
• to optimize together with the manufacturing sites the utilization of their production plants for assigned products
• to initiate and support implementation of solutions for technical issues in the production plants
• to be the contact for production support requests
• to support decision-making or problem-solving teams with chemical knowledge and experience of Carotenoid processes
• to support Product Management and Innovation Management to evaluate processes and technological options for new manufacturing routes, capacity expansion and new production set ups ensuring lowest cost production
• to support project selection in R&D by assessing cost impact of potential improvements or new options for manufacturing routes on lab scale, capacity expansion and new production set-up
• to support process-related large capital projects
• to generate expert knowledge of external production capacities and capabilities
• to maintain knowledge of the relative cost-position of competitors via technology-assessments and “industry cost-curves” for assigned product families
• to evaluate technological competence of competitors and external companiesto support and contribute to third-party production for DNP
• to support evaluation of strategies to improve cost position of Carotenoids and Nutritional Ingredients
The Ideal
• a master’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology or chemical engineering
• experience in chemical or biotech process development and/or production of vitamins, carotenoids or fine chemicals is essential
• very good project management skills
• ability to work in multi-functional, multi-disciplinary, and multi-cultural environment and teams.
• very good written and spoken English and German
