What can you expect?
The Regional Director, People Services is accountable for all regional HR service delivery for their region. Their primary responsibility is to lead the team of HR Managers across the region to drive operational excellence and standardization of services with regional adaptation as appropriate. They collaborate closely with COE and Shared Services leaders to ensure seamless local delivery of HR services to support People Managers and leaders within their region. They maintain relevant regional specific knowledge and draw upon a network of subject matter experts as needed to deliver compliant, efficient and market relevant services to the businesses.
This role is accountable for services to people managers in a region where the MMC’s operations involve more than 10,000 colleagues, which may be across multiple countries, and where there is operational complexity as a result of the regulatory and business environment. The post holder may be required to deputise for the HR COO from time to time.
The People Services function is responsible for the deployment of HR programs and initiatives at the regional and local country levels. People Services provides advice and supports transactional and service delivery in the following areas:
HR Managers providing advice, support and coaching to People Managers
HR transactional shared services (HR Services) which will include:
- Recruiting administration and coordination
- Reward and compensation administration
Implementing enterprise-wide HR programmes and initiatives materials
Actively engaging with People Partners and COEs to ensure alignment with business needs
Collaboration extensively with HR Services and in particular the Colleague Concierge Team to ensure effective utilization of Tier 0 and other tools
Employee Relations support for consultations and investigations
Employment policy and process in region
People Services works closely with the COEs to understand and lead the effective rollout of people programs, ensuring that the local market perspective is considered while driving for enterprise wide alignment where appropriate
We will count on you to:
Establish a cohesive framework across the service areas, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities, seamless hands offs, strong internal controls and work processes within the individual respective areas and across the four pillars
Understand regional employee-related statutory requirements and designs work processes and standards in alignment with these requirements
Provide oversight and guidance to Lead HR Managers on the implementation of enterprise wide tools, systems, platforms and processes
Collaborate with COE leaders, HR Services leaders and People Partners to translate regional business and HR needs into leading practice, cost effective and high quality HR services
Develop solutions, processes and tools that balance enterprise and business needs
What you need to have:
Proven experience in a HR leadership roles including responsibility for directing and shaping business improvement programmes
Knowledge and experience of operating in the relevant (or similar) regulatory/statutory environments and markets
Experience in operating successfully in highly complex stakeholder environments
Extensive experience in roles as an accountable corporate representative working with external organisations (eg. regulators) or internal formal bodies (eg. legal entity boards, works councils)
Experience of leading teams delivering services, ideally across multiple locations and time zones
Experience in collaborating across business lines and with corporate functions to achieve business-wide objectives
Passion for delivering excellence through working in partnership with others
Relentless focus on business priorities and opportunities to create enhanced value and improved outcomes
Sound understanding of the contribution this role makes to the quality of people management across the region and therefore the colleague experience

Key Relationships in this role:
Function Leadership: partner to set the People Services strategy, bringing the regional perspective
Sr. People Partners/People Partners: align on priorities and strategies for providing HR services to the businesses within assigned region
Talent Acquisition COE: partner to deliver support recruitment within assigned region
Total Rewards COE: consult on compensation-related issues raised by business leaders
I&D COE: develop and coach people managers on tactics for embodying a healthy I&D culture within their businesses within assigned region
Employee Relations COE: escalate matters requiring policy development or for complex employee relations matters
HR Services: collaborate with HR Services to ensure effective deployment and adoption of HR programs and initiatives at the regional and local levels
Key Decision Rights:
Regionalized HR services with local adaptation as needed
Reporting Relationships
Reports into HR COO role
Direct reports will be the Lead HRMs (or HRMs) in region
