Job summary


The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Lead to join us in Zurich, Switzerland. In this role, you will grow and develop our Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform business by working closely with new and emerging customers to promote middleware solutions that meet their unique needs. You’ll need to have a combination of customer-facing consulting skills and deep technical knowledge in the realm of enterprise middleware. As a Sales Lead, you will use a consultative solutions selling approach to develop opportunities in large enterprises that have none or very limited experience with Red Hat Middleware solutions. You will position and sell consulting services, striving to support a fast adoption of our technologies while cross-selling all Red Hat Middleware offerings after the initial success with their first implementation.


Primary job responsibilities



  • Work closely with key account managers, solutions architects, and domain architects to identify key accounts, assist in the creation of account plans, and carry out these strategic plans

  • Serve as a trusted adviser to senior IT and business executives within key accounts with the goal of creating long-term partnerships with customers

  • Develop new product strategies within strategic accounts to establish proof-of-concept and pilot implementations of Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift solutions

  • Work closely with product, product engineering, professional services, and product support teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience with Red Hat's offerings


Required skills



  • Background in delivering complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain

  • Experience with consultative customer engagements with either a major provider of middleware software or within the sales division of a middleware software reseller

  • Solid understanding of concepts and technologies in the areas of modern software development, including cloud-native, microservices, serverless, and Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) technologies, and programming frameworks, including Quarkus and OpenJDK

  • Understanding of container platforms like Kubernetes, Docker, and Red Hat OpenShift

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms

  • Solutions selling mentality in an environment with multiple offerings and services

  • Ability to work seamlessly with global cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers

  • Balance of strategic and tactical skills; high level of creativity

  • Understanding of the needs of application developers and DevOps environments is a plus

  • Native-level language skills in German and fluent written and verbal language skills in English; French is a plus
