Our Market Access team monitor population demographics and develop solutions to give patients access to our medicines. We act as both educators and advocates for our products, processes, and practices that help us revolutionize how our medicines create value in society. 


For our Swiss subsidiary in Global Human Health based in Lucerne we are currently looking for an Associate Director Market Access Manager – Value Demonstration, Affordability & Pricing (m/f/d) (full-time, indefinite).


On this role you will be responsible for early and long-term evidence on the value of our innovative products. This evidence and the understanding of the Swiss Health Care System will lay the foundation to inform policy makers, to create affordable access to our innovations and to partner with relevant stakeholders creating new contracting approaches. Additionally, you will contribute to and support our overall pricing & reimbursement team in handling some of our Pricing & Reimbursement dossiers and negotiations with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) on a need’s basis.


We are looking for a professional with a strong sense of teamwork, openness and engagement. Optimal cross-functional collaboration with regional and local market access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research teams (HEOR), policy and medical colleagues will be key for long-term success. A strong understanding of the Swiss health care system, including its pricing and policy framework will be key for the success in this role.


THE PRIMARY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


Responsible for successful value demonstration of our products:



  • Expand 4th hurdle framework – in addition to efficacy, safety, and quality the 4th Hurdle requires value evidence to support price and reimbursement access


  • Value evidence strategy encompasses clinical, economic and humanistic value


  • Generate value evidence to support product access and advocacy for innovation


  • Assess healthcare system budget impact and cost-effectiveness, then develop & implement affordability strategies 2-3 years pre-launch.


  • Characterize system inefficiencies that could be redirected to create headroom for innovation


  • Develop broader capabilities to engage in innovative models to support access and affordability for labelled indications


  • Build up a strong strategy, how our company positions towards upcoming policy topics.



Pricing and Reimbursement Activities:



  • Support and advice Pricing and Reimbursement team for FOPH submissions (new products, indications, Loss of Exclusivity or 3-year price review) ongoing.


  • Support team in developing scientifically well formulated value dossiers for FOPH submissions based on WZW (efficacy, appropriateness and economic value): Key facts form, Therapeutic Equivalent (TQV) and International Reference Price (APV) calculations, pricing strategy development.


  • Support Pricing and Reimbursement team in legal, policy and scientific topics concerning the interaction with the FOPH, by delivering analysis of ordinance, scenario analysis (e. g. impact of TQV) and developing pricing strategies.



Collaboration with Regional and Global Teams:



  • Primary point of contact for Health Economics (HECON) and Outcomes Research related projects. Assure an effective two-way communication between global/regional teams and the local subsidiary.


  • Assure involvement of all relevant key stakeholders in order to develop and implement HEOR projects.


  • Ensure and facilitates close collaboration with local and regional medical teams for local data generation projects


  • Assure appropriate knowledge transfer of new launch products between team members



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Master of Science in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Economics or equivalent. Additionally, Master of Advanced Studies or Certificate of Advanced Studies in Public Health, Health Economics, Health Care Management or Epidemiology & biostatistics.


  • 5 to 8 years relevant business experience in the pharmaceutical industry is mandatory.


  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical market access and outcomes research or clinical research.


  • Experience in Marketing, Medical, Policy or Clinical Research would be an asset


  • Proficient German (native level) and business-fluent English knowledge, both written and spoken. French and/or Italian knowledge is advantageous


  • Strong communication & collaborative skills and the ability to effectively work both independently and within a team environment.


  • Good presentation skills.


  • Business and financial acumen; ability to think strategically and to solve complex problems.


  • Demonstrates initiative, growth mindset.
