What it's about


Partners Group is seeking an experienced legal or regulatory specialist with a proven track record in anti-money laundering and countering the finance of terrorism (AML/CFT) regulations, ideally as they relate to private markets investments. You will own Partners Group's processes and procedures as relevant to the regulatory diligence and ongoing monitoring of investments, including risk categorization and handling of potential regulatory issues arising in Partners Group's investment portfolio. You will also have the opportunity to further develop the investment monitoring capabilities of Partners Group so this role would suit someone interested in developing internal policies while also being capable of quickly understanding individual deal dynamics.


 


 



  • Ensure the quality of investment data provided to external service providers handling the screening of investments;

  • Review diligence alerts to either confirm false positives or conduct further investigations where required and advise deal teams as to how to deal with any issues uncovered;

  • Answer ad hoc queries and advise deal teams regarding the AML/CFT risks associated with new investments and how those risks can be mitigated;

  • Oversee the ongoing risk monitoring of Partners Group's investment portfolio and present reports to Partners Group's respective boards and committees as well as to applicable regulators;

  • Develop and update internal policies and procedures relating to Partners Group's investment monitoring function;

  • Inform and provide regular updates to the relevant local Country Head of Compliance on compliance activities and regulatory matters; and

  • Monitor the regulatory environments where Partners Group operates and make suitable recommendations regarding Partners Group's operations.

  • Propose and implement a standalone process for reviewing and verifying beneficial ownership of counterparts when Partners Group sells part or whole of an investment

What we expect



  • Top legal academic credentials from a top-tier University;

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant regulatory role;

  • Familiarity with a transactional environment in one or more of either private equity, real estate, infrastructure and/or debt is a plus;

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and project management skills;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and

  • Proficiency in English and a second language, in particular German or French being a strong plus.
